In 1998, Julie died of cancer at the age of twenty.
In her memory, her parents, friends and family have decided to create the non-profit making organisation ‘Julie Drion’ and to make her aunt, Francoise Drion, President.
This association aims to:
a) Provide financial support to accredited Belgian institutions with a specific department dedicated to the care of children and young people suffering from cancer and the support of their parents or carers, be they in- or outpatients (such as in convalescent centres),
b) Collect and distribute results from all research made in connection with the nature, prevention, screening and treatment of childhood diseases,
c) Financial assistance for the acquisition of equipment that will help achieve the above goals.
The association can register any deed pertaining directly or indirectly to its purpose.
It may assist any project with similar interests to those of the association.
It can promote any activities and events which help to achieve its goals, such as editing and publishing material, organizing presentations, etc.
The association may operate both in Belgium and abroad in order to reach its objectives.
